Jamsu is Metzetta's third-largest city, with a population of 2.8 million and an area of over 400 square miles. It is one of Metzetta's Metropolitan Cities, which are not part of any province. It is the industrial heart of Metzetta, historically the centre of the country's textile trade but more recently heavy industry has overtaken the city, particularly automobile and electronics manufacturing. The humid climate of the area was also traditionally perfect for growing fruits, especially apples.
Etymology
"Jam" translates as "age" or "epoch." "Su" translates roughly as "embroidery" which references the city's strong ties to the textile industry. Jamsu as a whole can be interpreted as encapsulating the glorious age of the textile industry which fuelled the area's growth.

Jamsu is divided into 9 districts, known as gu in Metzetta. Each district is divided into neigbourhoods called dong. The districts of Jamsu are;

Economy
Jamsu is a manufacturing industry city. The major industries are textiles, automobiles, metals and heavy machinery. Many companies such as Sung-Gohan Automobiles (and its subsidiaries including Saraçen Motors) and ZVibe are found here. Jadocha Motors also locates most of its factories in Jamsu. Large, traditional markets still flourish in the city centre.
Fruits such as apples and melons thrive in the areas surrounding the city due to the humid climate.

The Jamsu Marathon is held in the city every year in April. The Jamsu Giants ice hockey team are located here, as well as the Jamsu Pigeons women's association football team.

Jamsu International Airport offers flights to over 50 destinations, mostly from Alshar, and doubles as a base for the air force.
Education
Jamsu Foreign Language High School is a secondary education facility offering classes in several languages, including Latin, English, Daxian and Aciriano.
Universities in Jamsu include Jamsu National University, Wincheon University of Education, Jamsu Institute of Science and Technology, Hinto University, Kuao University, Jamsu Cyber University, Jamsu Institute of Engineering, Wincheon Theological University, Zajae Women's University and Zajae Medical University.
