Powerships (Burg: Dinamovaissel) have been purpose built ships in Burgundie dating back to the Great War, the first being in 1930. For the remainder of the 20th century powerships were existing hulks that were retrofitted for their power generating purposes. They served a number of communities and military efforts in 1930s-1960s until the advent of commercial nuclear power in Burgundie. They were crucial during Operation Kipling and in the late 1970s also became a vital resource to the Department of Total Defense after responding to coastal emergencies. The Navy of Burgundie currently maintains 9 powerships, 2 are permanently on loan to the Department of Total Defense, 3 are on loan to local utilities on missions, 2 are on in dry dock, and the remaining two are ready to be deployed whenever and wherever their country calls them.

History

As the Second Fratricide dragged on, the Army of Burgundie operating in Deric territory needed a reliable power.
