The Party of Kiravian Democrats is a Kiravian political party currently operating mostly in the state of Argévia.
The PKD is modelled on the Party of Daxian Democrats in both its programme and its organisational structure. It is a pragmatic, non-ideological party that garners popular support by implementing effective policies, mostly aimed at delivering economic growth. It is led by a Central Committee chaired by a General Secretary. It has close ties with the Pribyterian Church of Dodd and is often referred to as the church's political wing.
History
The PKD was founded in Pontevedra, Argévia on 2 Evtilús, 21202 by several members in good standing of the Church of Dodd.
Financed by generous donations from the local Pribyterian community in Pontevedra, the party made the necessary legal filings to register as a political party, and was cleared to participate in elections by the County Akvagen court. PKD candidates stood for the 21202 elections to the Argévian Assembly and the Pontevedra City Commission, but were unsuccessful. In 21203, PKD candidate Lividia Anśion received 12,616 votes in the election to join the Argévian delegation to the Federal Stanora, but did not win a seat.
Between 21203 and 21204, twenty members of the PKD took up residency in Lopantēn, a hamlet abutting an industrial park in County Akvagen. Lopantēn had the status of an incorporated municipality, and reported a population of 12 on the 21200 federal census. All twenty PKD members registered to vote shortly after establishing domicile there. The PKD swept the 21204 municipal election, securing all five seats on the municipal commission.
Platform
Although the Party of Kiravian Democrats currently only has representation at the state and local levels, its leadership has consistently maintained that the PKD aims to become a major national party, and as such it offers policy positions on national issues as well as state and local ones.
In foreign policy, the PKD is strongly national sovereigntist. It calls for Kiravia's immediate withdrawal from the League of Nations and for the total dissolution of that organisation. It supports the ongoing human development programmes being carried out in Punth by the Kiravian Federacy, Daxia, and other nations with colonies on that continent, and opposes interference with those programmes by the League of Nations and rogue states.
