The Social Convist State of Slakonian, commonly referred to as Slakonian, is a federal semi-presidential republic located in eastern Sarpedon. It is bordered on the north by the Sea of Solisbury, on the south by the Caliphate of Rumelistan, by the east by the Kingdom of Kommenori, and on the west by the Elegans Imperium of Heku. Slakonian covers 17.816 million km² and has has an estimated population of 338 million. Slakonian comprises of NUMBER SUBDIVISIONS and NUMBER TERRITORIES.
Slakonian is a global leader in several industrial and technological sectors, it is also one of the largest exporter and importer of goods. It is a developed country with a very high standard of living, featuring comprehensive social security that includes the world's oldest universal health care system. Known for its rich cultural and political history, Slakonian has been the home of many influential philosophers, artists, military leaders, diplomats, musicians, cineasts, entrepreneurs, ideologists, scientists & inventors.

Prehistoric Times
Human habitation in Slakonian appears started almost 30,000 years ago, 12,000 years ago Mesolithic hunter-gatherers from western Ixnay after the end of the last ice age. During that time world-wide sea levels where much lower than today and modern humans passed through Slakonian to settle the Levantian continent via the Abylf Steppe which connected the two continents for thousands of years.
In the post-glacial era the sea levels steadily rose and formed the modern two continents of Sarpedon and Levantia although for some time evidence and folklore suggests that the waters at the time were narrower and shallower. By the beginning of the Neolithic Age; colonists integrated with the indigenous people, gradually changing their lifestyles from a nomadic life of hunting and gathering, to become settled farmers about 6,000 BC – the Neolithic Revolution. They cleared the forests to establish pasture and to cultivate the land, developed new technologies such as ceramics and textile production.
Hekuvian Imperial Era
The Hekuvian Imperium's conquest of western modern day Slakonian which begun roughly at 18A.D lasted 52 years to fully complete the Gaelic tribes of the west but the Hekuvian Imperium wasn't able to overtake the Welsh petty kingdoms or Teyrndoms as they were called. The Caerthengli,

Slakonian for centuries had been a predominant Catholic nation for centuries but much of the population(~30%) revered instead Orthodox Christianity. Slowly but steadily Catholicism was losing quickly ground. After the Slakonian military defeat and subsquent occupation from the 1920's by their fellow "believers" led many to seek alternative sources to preach their faith as a reactionary element.
The greatest reason that led to the high rise to Orthodox Christianity conversion during the 20th century was that most of the resistance leaders were members of the orthodox christian community and later when Teyrn Ferdinand IX "the last" of Gelia und Sundra who was the last claimant and styled as High King of Slakonian converted to Orthodox Christianity while thousands followed his example that very day. His death which was considered a national martydom led to even more converts out of reactionary action.
After the war, the communist government made it as a state policy to convert as many people as it could to orthodosixm despite officially claiming to be secular(rather than atheist). Many churches had been converted to orthodox centers while in schools and orphanages there was a systematic propaganda in order to make sure the conversion succeeds.
After the nation reforms into the Social Convist State has made part of it's constitution recognizing Eastern Orthodoxy as the "prevailing" faith of the country, while guaranteeing freedom of religious belief for all. It is believed that 79% are members of the Orthodox Chruch followed by another 7% by catholics and 2% by other denominations. 17.6& of the orthodox community consider themselves very religious.
