According to the Office of Statistics, Cartadania had an official estimated resident population of 375,983,914 on 1 July 2028. This figure includes the thirty-three states and the federal capital of Alahuela. Cartadania is the ninth-most populous country in the world and the second-most populous in Sarpedon. The total fertility rate in Cartadania estimated for 2028 is 1.71 children born per woman and has been below the replacement rate of 2.1 since 1973. With a low birth rate, women also become mothers at a later age, the mean age at first live birth being 28.2 in 2028, although research found that Cartadania also has the lowest stillbirth rate out of the occidental countries.
In March 2026, the population of Cartadania officially reached the 375,000,000 mark. It had reached 370,000,000 in early 2018. Between the years 2018–2026, the population of Cartadania grew from 370,904,000 to 375,233,447 (i.e. about 4.3 million people in a span of 8 years), making Cartadania one of the fastest-growing countries in Sarpedon. The population of Cartadania is growing by 1,000,000 people every 1.4 years- an average annual increase of 750,000 people, or +0.2%.
As of the 2020 Census, Pardo people (i.e., multiethnic Cartadanians) numbered 253.6 million people, roughly 67.6% or 2/3 of the population. Crono-Cartadanians, while only accounting for 1/7 of the population, are the fastest growing group within Cartadania, many of south Cronan descent. The Cronan population has also been further inflated by the events of the war in Varshan. Immigrants and their metropolitan-born descendancts, Cronan or otherwise are anticipated to account for most of Cartadania's population growth going forward.
