The Calderan Restoration Party (Gothic: Ceulde Restaurierungspartei, Daxian: 卡尔德兰恢复党), sometimes abbreviated as CRP, is one of 4 major political parties in the Calderan Republic. Their main opposition is the Calderan Unity Party.
The CRP's political beliefs mainly surround the reframing of Calderan culture to be more similar to the State of Austro-Caldera, but notably not as a dictatorship as promoted by the Volkspartei.
Name
The term "restoration" being used in the name of the party refers to the 'restoration of the original Calderan spirit', described by party founder William Derekson as being his ultimate goal in Calderan government.
Party structure
The Restoration Council is the organization in charge of promoting PRC ideology and campaign activities. The Council also determines membership in the party, as politicians must request membership and the council must accept it. People who are not in line with party goals will have membership requests rejected, and party members who change their beliefs to something that strays from mainstream beliefs will also be ejected from the party.
Beliefs
The CRP promotes the changing of Caldera's official language to Gothic and Volin, with other potential options being Ænglish or Daxian. Historical basis for the choice of Gothic is obvious, with the Volkspartei having spoken Gothic in government for roughly 400 years. Ænglish is also considered a prime choice due to its Levantine origin, and sharing roots with Gothic. Daxian as the final and last choice of language to be used alongside Volin lies with the historical usage of Daxian in Caldera following the Second Great War, with retired Daxian soldiers and their families often settling in cities alongside Calderan shores. Some of these cities still maintain Daxian language public signage and Daxian language classes.
Another major change promoted by the CRP includes changing the Calderan national flag from its current LeMieux flag, back to the 1944 flag, which was adopted by the Volkspartei in order to promote national unity and calm Indigeno-Calderan unrest. The party claims that this change must be done because the current official flag was chosen suddenly and does not represent Caldera as a whole, only Charles LeMieux's government.
In less culturally oriented ways, the party also favors a mixed economy, a progressive tax system that increases taxes the more money you make, higher minimum wages, universal health care, better funded public education, and subsidized housing. In general, the party supports infrastructure development (especially power development) and investments to achieve economic development and job creation. Sometimes the party is credited for promoting social and economic equality for all.
