The Calderan Unity Party (Kench: Parti de la Unite Qalderano), sometimes abbreviated as CUP or PUQ, is one of 4 major political parties in the Calderan Republic. Their main opposition is the Calderan Restoration Party.
The CUP's political beliefs mainly surround the reframing of Calderan culture to be more internationally distinct, and to not derive any of its culture from Levantine sources. As part of this, CUP is the biggest political advocate for the widespread usage of the Kench language, argued by many to be the only 'truly Calderan language', as Volin is often discredited for its association with Indigeno-Calderan ethnic groups.
Name
The party uses the term "unity" to refer to its main goal in government, as they intend to "unify" all of Caldera into a singular Calderan national identity.
Party structure
The CUP only has 1 leader at a time that acts as the head of the party, deciding campaign events and choosing party ideology. The process for choosing a leader is unknown, as the party founder Charles LeMieux never set this in stone. It's assumed that the current leader is to choose the next leader before stepping down.
Beliefs
The CUP promotes the widespread usage of the Kench language, denouncing all Levantine languages in the process, especially Gothic. Party leader Charles LeMieux has historically been open to the idea of using Burgoignesc as a national language as he previously signed into law in 2034. However, LeMieux has since recounted this belief, stating that while he holds a special place for Burgoignesc in his heart, it's ultimately not a Calderan language due to its Levantine origin. However, opponents of the Kench language argue that Kench is not really Calderan either, as its roots are clearly Levantine in origin, and much of the vocabulary was derived from Burgoignesc.

Another major belief promoted by the CUP includes the Calderan national flag, which the party claims that the current national flag is the perfect flag for Caldera and should be promoted at all times, even going so far as to inscribe in law that the national flag is to be flown on all national holidays, especially January 15th, the day that Kench was created.
In less culturally oriented ways, the party also favors right-leaning ideologies of conservatism, social conservatism, and economic libertarianism. The CUP broadly advocate for traditional "Calderan" values, a low degree of government interference, and large support for the private sector.
