Prontoburger (often referred to as just Pronto) is a multinational fast food chain based in Ominasky, Alcosky. It is the largest hamburger chain restaurant in Tierrador, controlling a larger market share than its biggest rival, Urcea-based NoWaiter. The restaurant was first opened as a 1950s-style fast casual establishment by Caphirian immigrant Egloresio Orlami in 1967, in Tarhogun, Alcosky. Eventually, as the business grew rapidly throughout the next decade, Orlami moved Prontoburger’s headquarters to Ominasky, where it remains today. Prontoburger has over 20,000 locations worldwide, mostly in South Crona, but is also prominent in Sarpedon, Levantia and Audonia. The restaurant takes its name after its signature item, the “Prontoburger”, but also has a wide variety of products, such as French fries, chicken products, and milkshakes.
History
The founder and current chairman, Egloresio Orlani, had run a barbecue grill in his hometown of Dalora for two decades prior to the founding of Prontoburger. Visiting his son Sivino Orlani in Urcea for his graduation in 1983, he took note of the local NoWaiter restaurant chain, which he hadn't seen in Tierrador. The quickly produced and served food interested him, and during his visit, he exclusively ate at NoWaiter to inspect its menu. Following his return to Tierrador, he began experimenting by adding hamburgers to the menu of his barbecue. They became a hit with the local youth, and eventually in three years, Orlani founded the first Prontoburger down the street from his barbecue restaurant.
By 2002 Prontoburger had become a nationally recognised brand and the largest fast food chain in the country, absorbing its domestic competitor, Mealz, in 2001. Absorbing Mealz gave Prontoburger a foothold in areas of the country where it hadn't been in before. In 2003 following a merger with a coffee chain known as Coniglio, Prontocafe was founded in Coniglio locations.
