The Director of the Republic is head of state, with the powers of the Head of Government resting nominally in the subordinate office of the [[Taesteach of Faneria]]. The Directorate is an elected position selected for by a two-stage vote; popular vote among citizens from a pool of candidates from every party able to claim more than five percent of the electorate, encouraging small parties to confederate during election seasons.
