Baclovia is a region located in southeastern Peratra, itself a subcontinent within Australis. Baclovia is bordered by Rototornicia to the northwest, the Castadillaan state of Samalosi to the northeast, Tebelvonia to the west, and through maritime borders to the east it borders the Caphiric Overseas Possession of the Escal Isles and the Pelaxian province of Freda Island.

Like the rest of Peratra, Baclovia was originally settled by Polynesian tribes. Being excellent navigators, the Polynesians were historically well-known for how widespread the territories they have explored and settled in were. The predominance of the Tula’au o Tina mountains has largely limited human habitation to the coasts for many years asides from the southwestern area of the region where the mountains subside. Unlike most of the Pertran subcontinent, however, Baclovia never came into contact with Daxian traders despite having come into contact with Daxian explorers. Instead, first contact with non-Polynesian peoples happened much earlier in the 14th Century with the arrival of the Caphiric explorer Francisio Moda during his stay on what is now the Escal Isles. Contact with Pelaxia began in the early 17th Century when interest in securing the Southern Route became paramount. Early contact with Occidental peoples allowed for Christianity to spread to Baclovia with relative ease.

Geography

One of the largest regions in Peratra, Baclovia is located in southeastern part of the subcontinent and stretches from the Tula’au o Tina mountains in the north and east to the Okatian Sea and Bay of Diamav in the south. The Tula’au o Tina mountains make up the focal point up north where it serves as a border for Baclovia and its neighbouring regions, though much of the border between Baclovia and Tebelvonia is delineated based on the shape of the largest lake in Peratra before following one of the rivers that flow into the lake against the current before reaching the southern coast of Peratra.

Baclovia's climate is to be determined upon completion of the climate reboot.
