Siegmar Alexandre d'Everard (born 31 May 1997) is a Yonderian Istroyan athlete and special forces soldier. Serving with the elite DELTA forces, d'Everard took part in numerous operations during the Final War of the Deluge, most notably Operation Overthrow, as well as several deployments to both the Quetzenkel and Cetsencalia fronts, for which he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Joanus, the highest award for bravery awarded by Yonderre.
d'Everard had his Istroyan Games debut at the 2018 Summer Games in Gabion and the Istroyan Winter Games at the 2020 Winter Games in Carlshaven. Missing out on the 2022 Kiravian Summer Games due to the Final War of the Deluge, d'Everard returned to the Istroyan Games with the Nicheng 2024 Winter Games and subsequently partook in the Port St. Charles 2026 Summer Games, the Kralank 2028 Winter Games and finally the Ankae 2030 Summer Games. He has in total earned 10 Istroyan Games medals, of which three are gold.
Outside his work with DELTA and Istroyan sports, d'Everard does public speaking including non-profit motivational talks in schools. d'Everard has worked on a number of films by Yonderian film company Primo Kino as technical advisor on military matters, notably Operation Overthrow (2029) where he had a small role playing himself.
Biography
Siegmar Alexandre d'Everard was born in Sainte-Catherine on 31 May, 1997, to Louen d'Everard and his wife Wilhelmine (née Kurtz). He is descended from the House d'Everard, being a nephew of the current house head Rachet d'Everard. He was privately educated and joined the Yonderian Defence Force in Spring 2016, aged 18. An avid recreational shooter, d'Everard was singled out for his marksmanship and trained as a designated marksman with the Ducal Life Guard Division. d'Everard was selected for the training programme for DELTA in the Autumn of 2017 and completed his training by Spring 2018. Later the same year d'Everard debuted at the Istroyan Games in the 2018 Summer Games in Gabion where he earned a silver medal in men's rifle shooting and bronze in men's pistol shooting. d'Everard first appeared at the Istroyan Winter Games at the 2020 Winter Games in Carlshaven, at which time he earned a bronze medal in men's 10 km cross country skiing and another in 30 km cross country skiing.
In November 2020, d'Everard took part in Operation Overthrow as part of the opening stages of the Final War of the Deluge. d'Everard was deployed to both the Quetzenkel and Cetsencalia fronts during the Final War as part of DELTA in support of League of Nations coalition forces. For his actions during the Final War of the Deluge, d'Everard was awarded the Order of the North Star by the Nysdra Sea Treaty Association and the Knight's Cross of the Order of Joanus, the highest decoration for bravery awarded by the Serene Grand Duchy Yonderre.
d'Everard returned to the Istroyan Games in the Nicheng 2024 Winter Games where he won a gold medal for 10 km cross country skiing. At the Port St. Charles 2026 Summer Games, d'Everard would go on to win gold in men's rifle shooting and silver in men's skeet shooting. At the Kralank 2028 Winter Games, d'Everard won a silver medal for 30 km cross country skiing and made fifth place in 10 km. At the Ankae 2030 Summer Games, d'Everard won another gold medal for men's rifle shooting and a silver medal for men's pistol shooting.
d'Everard continues to serve with DELTA as an operator and as a shooting instructor, also training the Special Intervention Force, the special forces unit of the Custodes Yonderre. Since 2027, d'Everard has been held on retainer by Yonderian film company Primo Kino as technical advisor on military matters.
Personal life
Siegmar d'Everard married Sophie Reichsmark in August 2020, four months before his deployment to partake in the Final War of the Deluge. His first son was born in May 2021 while he was in Quetzenkel. The couple had another son in 2025 and a daughter in 2027. The family lives in Nouvelle-Estia, part of Collinebourg.
