The Audonian Democratic Traditionalist Front (Aljabhat Altaqlidiat Aldiymuqratiat Al'uwdunia) is a center-right political and militant group that is active throughout Audonia. It functions as a decentralized umbrella organization unifying several different pro-democratic political parties and military organizations throughout the continent. As this organizational model would suggest, in some countries the ADTF participates in the political process, and in others it functions as an organized insurgency.

The ADTF was founded in the final year of Operation Kipling as an alliance of various related anti-communist, Occidental supported political and military organizations. In 1992, the organization adopted a more robust central organizing ideology espousing a platform of pro-Organic Democracy and economic openness. This ideological consolidation expanded the organization's opponents from communist countries to include what observers have referred to as an "undeclared war" with Daxian-aligned inlfuences.

The ADTF has been accused by opponents as being a "front for Levantine interests".

Organization

The ADTF is largely decentralized, with National Central Committees (NCCs) directing the affairs of the organization in each country. The NCCs have a large degree of autonomy and have the authority to determine whether or not the ADTF participates in the political process of a country or is in revolt. The NCCs vary widely in form, ranging from organized, centralized political parties to coalitions of various aligned cells and militias; these are typically referred to on a sliding scale as either a "controlling committee" or an "allied coalition". The Continental Central Committee (CCC) does exist as a central organ of the organization but has limited authority. It receives one delegate from each NCC and functions primarily as a committee of correspondence between the national organizations and, according to some sources, foreign agents. In some cases, the Chairman of the CCC has authority to mediate disputes between national committees and direct organizational resources to certain countries, but the CCC has extremely limited resources at its disposal. The primary power of the Chairman of the CCC is to recognize national committees, usually used in the case of new NCCs or routine leadership changes but in some cases to decide the "established" NCC within a country when there are several contenders. Critics and opponents of the organization have alleged that the Chairman of the CCC has broad discretion to direct funds and arms provided to the organization by Occidental countries.

Ideology

The Audonian Democratic Traditionalist Front in its current form advocates for an ideology known as "democracy with Audonian characteristics", which is briefly explained as "the integration of participatory government and economics into Audonia while maintaining the continent's unique social traditions and social mores." In brief, scholars have classified this as "Audonian organicism" inasmuch as the structures of Audonian life - be it the traditionally proliferated sharia law, hierarchical societies, clan loyalties, and other such institutions - will be retained while introducing voting-based governmental systems and free market economics in ways that mesh with those frameworks. In some countries more than others, this casts the ADTF as a supporter of free trade, contra both the economic nationalists in their own countries and some international interests such as those of Burgundie. While the general propositions are the same, ADTF aligned groups vary widely on their arguments and justifications. In Muslim majority countries, for example, the ADTF factions advocate for Islamic democracy, using Islamic scholarship to make their point. In Audonian Christian areas, ADTF factions point to the Occident as a successful example of faith-based open societies. Still in other areas, ADTF proponents argue a kind of good-government nationalism, arguing that only through reform can their homelands become strong and fully independent.

Besides being what some critical scholars have derided as "a project of Occidentalization", ADTF-aligned entities are very critical of the poor level of human development across Audonia and seek to improve conditions through functional welfare systems. Given the fact that most Audonian countries have rudimentary social safety nets, the ADTF primarily casts itself as the anti-corruption faction as many observers have noted the waste, fraud, and abuse of many public servants and other politically connected individuals within Audonian welfare systems.

The pre-1992 Front had no single unifying ideology beyond that of staunch opposition to communism and a generally internationalist, if not Occidentalist, disposition. The Front included a wide variety of groups ranging from traditionalist monarchists to Occidentalizing liberals to so-called "moderate jihadists". As the original generation of Front members began to die or retire decades after the conclusion of Operation Kipling, its surviving members - now bolstered by a younger generation inspired by mass media - began to blend its various factions into a somewhat cohesive ideology. Today, the Front is still maintains its organizational diversity (still including both nominally Islamists and monarchist cells and groups, for instance) but has coalesced around the Audonian organicist platform.

Presence by country

Name Status Organization type Notes
Battganuur present; not in government Regional movement The ADTF is primarily present along the western coast within historically Istroyan-christian communities.

Bulkh present; not in government Cultural movement Because of Bulkhs status of being in Union with Burgundie, it's occidentalization rates are the highest in Audonia. However, ADTF exists as an aggressive academic movement to seek more Islamist influence in the execution of the free market economy in Bulkh and to reintroduce Islamic concepts of community responsibility like the zakat, and less focus on personal wealth and gain.
