Eldmora, officially the Eldmoran Empire (German: Eldmoranischer Reich), is a country in central Levantia, Eldmora is situated between two major rivers, the Rhodes to the North, shared with Hendalarsk, and the Mordau to the southeast, shared with Yonderre. To the northeast, the Vandarch Lake, and to the south, shares the Regal Mountains with Grussland; it covers 976,141 km2 (376,890 sq mi), with a population of 82 million within it's xx states. Eldmora borders the nations of Yonderre to the southeast, Grussland to the southwest, and Hendalarsk to the northwest. The nation's capital and largest city by population is Maessen.
Various Gothic tribes inhabited the lands that make up modern-day Eldmora since antiquity, the region was named by the Urceans as the Ultmar region, a name that has increasingly lost use in Eldmora, preferring to use Gothic instead, or in some cases, Levantine and Eldmoran. In the 10th century, Eldmoran territories were a part of the (some HRE type of thing), in the 11th century, those territories formed into their own independent states, but commonalities between those states, from language to culture, moved those states to unite into a loose confederation, known as the Eldmoran-Gothic Confederacy, in the 15th century, the Kingdom of Eldmora dominated the confederacy, through either personal unions with the remaining members, or through annexations, this in principle resulted into the unification of the confederacy into a unitary state under one crown, headed by the Kingdom of Eldmora. It wasn't until the 17th century, with the first constitution being approved, that Eldmora began to refer to itself as the Eldmoran Empire, both inward and outward, this came after the first restoration of the crown. The new constitution would also establish a more federal type of governance in the Empire, but wouldn't be as well defined until the reunification of Eldmora in XX.
In the 16th century, Louis Maurits mounted a rebellion against then King Ruben, which would be known as Maurit's Rebellion, and resulted in king Rubens's execution. After the rebellion, the short-lived Eldmoran Republic was founded, during its existence, Louis committed atrocities against protestants, and more notably, nobles and aristocrats. A famine spelled the downfall of the Republic, and eventually, Louis' death by Ottmar and Peter Gump during the Maessen riots. After the fall of the republic, Katharine I was crowned as Eldmora's first Empress, as she was the youngest, last living child of King Wilhelm III. (First World War). (Second World War). The Eldmoran Empire is a federal state under a constitutional monarchy. Empress Judith II is the monarch and head of state of the Eldmoran Empire. The Monarch has the right to be briefed and consulted, the right to encourage, and the right to warn. The Imperial Constitution of Eldmora provides for the monarch's duties, rights, and royal prerogatives, the rights and plights of the citizenry, and the separation of powers. The constitution can be amended by parliament but must be ratified through a referendum. The Supreme Court of Eldmora is the highest court able to invalidate a statute that violates a provision of the constitution.
The Eldmoran Empire is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy. The Parliament of Eldmora is the sole Legislative body on the federal level. It is a bicameral legislature, namely the Staatkanzlei acting as the upper house, or senate, and the Volksforum as the lower house.
