The Department of State is responsible for managing the foreign relations of Cartadania. Cartadania is a significant political and economic power in Sarpedon and a key player on the world stage. Cartadania's foreign policy reflects its role as a great power and is designed to help protect the country's national interests, national security, ideological goals, and economic prosperity.

The Cartadanian government has traditionally maintained active relations with other nations, mostly through multilateral organizations such as the League of Nations and the Community of Lusophone Nations.

Modern Caphiria and Cartadania, having originated from the same nation, have deep cultural ties, despite being vastly different nations. They, unofficially, maintain many agreements and deals that allow seamless operations between them. Many Caphirian corporations have some type of headquarters in Cartadania and trade is easily facilitated through the shared borders.
