Solafioden is an oil drilling and mining conglomerate operating in Faneria and Fiannria. Its primary operations are oil extraction and refining in the Eileann Brisdeigh (northwestern islands, lit. 'icebreak isles') region and coal mines in Meadhainnigh and the rest of the Deamhainn Mountains. It directly supplies the Fhainnin military with fuel and refines fuel for a plurality of Faneria, as well as exporting to several overseas nations and Fiannria.
The company is officially sanctioned by it's home nation's government, and enjoys status as a critical industry. While oil and other fuels do not comprise a significant portion of the Fhainnin export economy, energy independence is a major strategic goal of the government. Solafioden was founded by private backers in 1898 and rose to prominence as a coal mining company, later rising to subcontinental prominence during the Great War, where the newly-discovered oil reserves in northeast Faneria lead to some of the most ferocious fighting along the entire front as the Fhainn and Fiannrians battled over the territory.
