August I was the Great Prince of Burgundie from 1904–1975, ruling the country during the Interwar period, Second Great War, Operation Kipling and Occidental Cold War. He was a polarizing figure, as he represented the last of the old guard which was much loved by Burgoignesc conservatives, but he was very derided as holding the country back from full embracing the promise of the 20th century but liberals and progressives.
