Burgundie and Daxia have been historically at odds for centuries; it was not until they found a common cause in Operation Kipling in the 1960s-80s that they began to work together on the world stage. While not allies, Burgundie and Daxia are respectfully friendly to each other and often find themselves working towards the same strategic objectives, even if their processes differ and are sometimes at odds.
History
Slaving wars
Maritime Dericanian merchants fought the Qian Dynasty for dominance in the Northern Stream slaving routes, which they gained control of from the mid 17th century to the early 19th century. They continued to sell the slaves to the Qian, but with the Dericanian middlemen, the slaves became more expensive and after a century of raiding and fighting over the region, the Qian moved on to other conflicts, leaving northestern Dolong to be less under the influcence of Daxia after the collapse of the Burgoignesc colonial empire than other parts of Dolong.
